Renewing the pledge is a publication by a coalition of 26 NGOs including Global Witness from Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the US. The report calls for urgent action from the African heads of state who met shortly after publishing this document at a major summit of the African Union in Uganda from 19-27 July 2010. Ahead of the summit, international Sudan envoys met in Khartoum on 17 July 2010.
