This discussion paper examines the intersection between detention and the exposure to the risk of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) among boys in eight conflict-affected countries, including South Sudan. The paper documents a high prevalence of CRSV among boys, though lower than the proportion of girls. To address the social, physical and psychological harms associated with CRSV among boys due to their deprivation of liberty, the report shares a set of recommendations for different stakeholders.
